Mary Norton Boutique Opening Supports Lupus Research

Luxury handbag and shoe designer Mary Norton opened her newest boutique in Los Angeles and donated a percentage of the opening week proceeds to Lupus LA to benefit lupus research through The Lupus Research Institute. The cause is near and dear to Norton’s heart as she was diagnosed with lupus nearly ten years ago.

The exclusive shopping event “Moonlight and Magnolias” was held on Tuesday September 25 and Norton, an American brand designer based in Charleston, South Carolina, stayed true to her southern roots with an evening high on southern charm. Mary Norton is a red carpet favorite of Sharon Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Katherine Heigl, and Keira Sedgwick. Her bags are featured on the current pages of Vanity Fair and Lucky Magazine.

Lupus LA supporters in attendance were luncheon committee members Janice Wallace, Debbi Cowan, Michelle Kaye, Julie Benz (Dexter), Dorothy Ellis, and celebrity friends Taraji P. Henson (Boston Legal), Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (Prison Break), Minae Noji (General Hospital), Michelle Borth (Tell Me You Love Me) and TV Guide’s new Red Carpet host Lisa Rinna.

Mary Norton will have a place of honor at the upcoming “Hollywood Bag Ladies” Lupus Luncheon on November 7 at the Beverly Wilshire Four Season Hotel where she will present a runway fashion show of her newest collection of handbags and shoes. Sharon Stone is the Honorary Chair of the popular luncheon and this year’s honorees are Marla and Nicole Paxson. The Paxson’s dear friend Marla Maples will MC the fashionable event featuring a silent auction of over 400 designer and celebrity handbags.
