Get Into the Loop
Lupus LA Orange Ball 2009

Thursday, May 28th at 6:30p.m.
Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons

9500 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills

The tradition continues with Los Angeles’ most colorful gala event: the Orange Ball, a benefit to raise awareness and funds for Lupus LA. The ninth annual Hollywood gala will be held on May 28, 2009 at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel, featuring a performance by six-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton.

Each year the “Loop Award” is bestowed upon a deserving member of the entertainment industry for their efforts to further the cause of Lupus LA. The 2009 award will be presented to Nancy Utley, President of Fox Searchlight Films, the studio that brought us The Wrestler and eight-time Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire.

In addition, Lupus LA has established a new award to pay tribute to the inspiring leadership of Daniel J. Wallace, MD—beloved physician to patients across southern California and founder of Lupus LA. The “Daniel J. Wallace Founder’s Award” recognizes an individual chosen by Dr. Wallace who embodies inspiration and leadership in both their professional and personal accomplishments. This year we honor legendary singer-songwriter and philanthropist Carole Bayer Sager Daly.

What pink is to the fight against breast cancer and red is to the fight against AIDS, orange is to the fight against lupus. A bright orange “loop” encircles the Lupus LA logo; within it lies the commitment to raising awareness and ultimately finding a cure for this little known yet widespread and devastating disease.
