The color orange is being brought to the forefront in this year’s “Orange Ball,” a benefit to raise funds for Lupus LA. The eighth annual Hollywood gala will be held on May 1, 2008 at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel.

Always a fabulous party and hugely entertaining evening, this year’s Orange Ball promises to uphold and even out-do this tradition! The highlight of the evening will be an exclusive performance by Seal. Christie’s auctioneer Andrea Fiuczynski will urge attendees to dip into their pockets for one-of-a-kind and hard to get auction items.
Each year the “Loop Award” is bestowed upon a deserving member of the entertainment industry for their efforts to further the cause of Lupus LA. The 2008 award will be presented to a dynamic couple: movie producer Lauren Shuler Donner (Pretty in Pink, You’ve Got Mail, X-Men) and director Richard Donner (The Omen, Lethal Weapon).
What pink is to the fight against breast cancer and red is to the fight against AIDS, orange is to the fight against lupus. A bright orange “loop” encircles the Lupus LA logo; within it lies the commitment to raising awareness and ultimately finding a cure for this little known yet widespread and devastating disease.
